The source
Three waterphones, recorded in detail
The plugin was made from three different Interstellar waterphones — built by hand in our workshop — recorded with high-quality equipment and several microphones at many dynamic levels.
Six sound banks, different instruments and microphones, multi-layer sampling for a rich, natural response. Bow the rods with the Virtual Bow, or play them from your keyboard across a gigantic range.
24-bit stereo samples
Six sound banks featuring different waterphones and microphones, average sample length around 30 seconds.
Virtual Bow
Drag across the rods to bow them — with steps, offset, velocity and randomness.
Shape the sound
ADSR envelope, sample start offset, high-pass and low-pass filters, pitch-wheel range and A4 tuning.
MTS-ESP microtuning
Follows ODDSOUND's MTS-ESP master for dynamic, on-the-fly microtonal scales.

Microtonal by design
MTS-ESP is a global microtuning system for your DAW, designed by ODDSOUND in cooperation with Richard D. James (Aphex Twin). The free MTS-ESP Master or the Suite let you build scales and morph between them on the fly.
The waterphone's own microtonal character makes it the perfect partner for it.
